Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has donated face masks to Hon. Barbara Asher Ayisi, Member of Parliament (MP) for Cape Coast North Constituency and Deputy Minister of Works and Housing at a ceremony at the Council Chamber of the Technical University.

It will be recalled that last week the University made a similar donation to the Cape Coast Metropolitan Assembly.

In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor of CCTU, Rt. Rev. Prof. Ing. Joshua Danso Owusu-Sekyere indicated that the gesture was the University's 'small' contribution to support the fight against the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the Cape Coast North Constituency where the University is located.

Prof. Owusu-Sekyere added that apart from the face masks, there are other projects ongoing at the University and very soon they will outdoor them to the general public.

On her part, Hon. Barbara Asher Ayisi expressed her excitement and appreciation to the Management of the Technical University for the donation. She underscored the long-standing relationship her foundation, Barbara Asher Foundation has with the University and will continue to collaborate with Management of CCTU to advance the progress of Cape Coast and Ghana at large.

"I am going back to Accra to finalise discussions on producing these face masks and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) in large quantities. I hope that very soon, my foundation, Cape Coast North Entrepreneurial Training (CCNET) and CCTU will collaborate again to produce PPEs to assist government efforts on the prevention of COVID-19 pandemic", the Cape Coast North Legislature added.

Present at the ceremony were Prof. Samuel Kwame Ansah, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Francis NarhAkrono, Registrar, Mr. Kwabena Owusu, Director of Finance, Mr. Gabriel Acquaah Hagan, Director of Works, Mr. Stephen A. Atianeere, Director of Internal Audit, and Mr. Stephen Kojo Arhin, Chairman of New Patriotic Party, Cape Coast North Constituency.
