The joy of every institution is to see massive growth in it products. This year, the University’s ceremonial ground was filled with 1000s of matriculants as they await to be matriculated by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Joshua Danso Owusu-Sekyere. At the dawn of the day, the CCTU ceremonial ground which was the venue for the programme was filled to its capacity as the newly admitted students and the University’s officials were seated for the occasion to begin.

This year, the University received a total of 1,419 applications from applicants but a  total of 1398 applicants were fortunate to be admitted into the three(3) Schools in the University; School of Business & Management  Studies, School of Engineering, and School of Applied Science and Arts. From the total number, 525 representing 54.4% were males and 444 representing 45.5% were females. It is heartwarming to know that out of the number that was admitted into the tertiary programmes, 111 are pursuing Bachelor of Technology Degree programmes.

Rev. Pof. Joshua Danso Owusu-Sekyere, who is the newly appointed Vice Chancellor admitted his first group of students into the University. He advised the students to make prudent use of their time. To him, ‘‘the only commodity that is distributed equally is time, But time and tide … , respect and value time, and remember you waste time at your own expense’’. Rev Danso Owusu- Sekyere further assured the students that all projects on campus which are under construction will soon be in it full-fledged state. He ended his speech by appealing to Students and Management to help make CCTU a Leading Innovative and Entrepreneurial Technical University in Ghana with local, national and global influence. 

Mr. Jonathan Aboagye, an Assistant Development Planning Officer from the Local Government & Rural Development Unit in Accra, used the occasion as an opportunity to educate the students on the upcoming referendum exercise. He urged the students to visit the poll on the 17th December, 2019 to exercise their franchise.
